Welcome to the High Mountain School Music Department!
At HMS we have a wide variety of music education and opportunities for our students.
Students in grades 5-7 are enrolled in general music class in which they learn musical concepts and theories, how to play certain musical instruments, how to sing, how sound and recordings are created, music history, and much more.
- Any student at HMS is eligible to be in the concert band, chorus, and/or chime ensemble.
- The band plays music from the standard literature to world music and beyond.
- The chime ensemble has grown significantly and is finding great success with several different experience levels.
- The chorus sings a variety of music from the standard repertoire, modern compositions, world music, jazz, and popular music.
